The Vegabonds originate from Alabama and were formed in 2009. They describe
themselves as a musical mixture between Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and the
Almann Brothers Band. This description is not far off, I think.
The Vegabonds play melodic and guitar-oriented rock music and when I listen to them, I also hear elements of the Black Crowes and Widespread Panic. In essence they play Southern Rock, but the Vegabonds are by no means copycats. They have their own musical expressions which are
primarily rooted in the musical sources that I have just mentioned, but also, the many sub genres that rock music also consists of today.
The group has visited Europe three times and I should be very happy if they would drop by Denmark the next time they come over to the old world.
