The Swedish-American musician Anders Osborne is an artist that likes to express himself through several musical styles – although he seems to favor the blues. He is not new to the music scene having been around since the 90’s. However, what is special about Anders Osborne and why I like him is that he sings and writes blues songs in a new and contemporary way often unlike any I have heard before.
He is besides being a solo artist also a recognized composer for diverse artists as Keb Mo’ and Tim Mcgraw. He has through the years played with and produced other contemporary blues artists like Tab Benoit, Mike Zito and North Mississippi Bluesstars to name but a few.
To exemplify Anders Osborne’s artistic and commercial expression I have selected the numbers The Mind of a Junkie and Lafayette. If you don’t think they are catchy the first time around then my advice is to give the songs a second chance and I am pretty sure they will get to you.
