Old Crow Medicine Show is an old-time Americana and folk band which has been active on the
American music scene for more than 20 years. They started their career as
buskers on the street corners in different cities in the USA in 1998. The band
then subsequently played their way through many states until they randomly were discovered by the famous folk musician Doc Watson. After listening to the band he invited them to play at his festival MerleFest. And the rest is history.
The band has been famous now for several years in the USA and has even been inducted
into Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, which is a rare and prestigious recognition.
Besides that, they have won two Grammy Awards. The musical genres that Old Crow
Medicine Show practices can be best be described as Americana with heavy doses
of folk and country music. The band mostly play their own songs but also many tunes
pre WW2 find their way to their setlist.
OCMS play and sing fantastically well, and you’ll have a hard time not humming along
and tapping your feet when you hear them. The band is practically unknown in
Denmark which is a crying shame. I’ll hereby do my very best to change that
