The Band of Heathens in action

I had the good fortune of watching The Band of Heathens at a concert a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, we were only about a 100 people, but it was still an excellent concert. Luckily, tBoH took no notice of playing to such a small crowd and the band rose to the occasion and put on a really riveting show. Along the way the band gave the audience various samples of their strong melodies, their fine harmonies and the many different musical styles the group operate in.

The Band of Heathens are from Austin Texas. The band have been active since 2007 with some line-up changes over the years, but with the two founding members and main songwriters and vocalists Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist still in the band. TBoH have put out a number of really great albums since their formation and deservedly so they have been nominated to several prizes in Americana for instance as best duo/group of the year in 2010.

I listen a lot to the group, and I can easily relate to their songs and their musical universe and I really enjoy their fine harmonies. If you don’t know the Band of Heathens already, I strongly advise you to check them out. I hope that the three videos of the group’s music will show you how good they are.
