Billy Squier’s album Don’t Say No turns 40 in 2021 and I am all in for taking part in the celebration of the album. I played Don’t Say No in 1981 till the album was totally warped. It was and still is an epic rock album.

Billy Squier is originally from Boston but relocated to New York City in the 70’s. He enjoyed his major breakthrough with the album Don’t Say No in 1981 after having tried to get the recognition he so well deserved for some years.

His record company released the Stroke as the first single from Don’t Say No and the number went on to become a major hit not only in the US but also in Australia, Canada and in Great Britain. Subsequently the singles In the Dark and My Kinda Lover were released also with considerable success. The Album Don’t Say No stayed-on Billboards top 200 for two years and ended up selling more than 4 million copies. Don’t Say No is l considered to be Billy Squier’s best album and also one of the best rock albums of the eighties.

I have put in a couple of videos below so you can enjoy Billy Squier and some of his great songs from Don’t Say No. I wish you a happy 40th anniversary.https://youtu.be/NtIlG87_D28
