King King: Solid Rock, but Boy it’s Good!

King King is a blues rock group from Scotland. They play classic rock, blues music but also pop. The group is fronted by Alan Nimmo who founded the group in 2008.

The Scottish blues rock group King King was formed in 2008 by Alan Nimmo who is still fronting the group. The group is called a blues band, but in my humble ears the group is so much more. They play classic rock and pure blues music, but they also play what is almost pop music. King King is a versatile group.

But the truth be told. The group has won several blues prizes. On the other hand, was Free a blues band? Well, I don’t think so. Free was so much more and so is King King. I mention Free because I think I hear reminiscences from that group when I listen to King King. Which is not a bad thing. I loved Free.

King King has toured relentlessly since they were formed. Primarily in the UK but also on mainland Europe and several countries overseas. If I should characterize the band, the label a working man’s band would come up. Figuratively, there are fish and chips, pints and pubs in their music.

One thing’s for sure and that is that the group’s music is rock solid, swinging and easy to relate to. Listen to the samples that I have enclosed and by all means check out the group. I’ll recommend their live album from 2016 to you for starters then you’ll get a fine impression of the group. I hope you like King King.
