The National Reserve comes from Brooklyn, New York City. The band plays an attractive mixture of rock, r/b, soul, blues, funk and c/w. This myriad of musical styles makes me categorize the band under the label Americana.

The National Reserve is fronted by guitarist Sean Walsh who writes very melodic songs. When you listen to the band, they sound very competent, and road seasoned like they have paid their dues in clubs across the country.

The group plays old school rock like granddad likes it. Rock music the way I think it’s supposed to sound, and which has its roots in older artists’ music like Bob Dylan, Leon Russel, Neil Young and the Band. Why don’t you try and listen to a number like New Love in which the organ is dominating like in the old days when the Band was still together.

I’ve put in a couple of samples of the music by the National Reserve. New Love, Big Bright Light and the old blues number Trouble in Mind. Feel free to enjoy.
