Everybody Loves Diamonds: A Hilarious Crime Series!

Everybody Loves Diamonds is an Italian series which is inspired by the biggest diamond heist in history. The heist took place in Antwerp in Belgium in 2003. The series is also a modern Italian version of the Danish Olsen Gang. The Series follows a gang of Italian petty criminals who plan and carry out the biggest diamond heist in history. When I mention the Olsen Gang, there are so many similarities and imitations in the series that I strongly suspect the scriptwriters of having seen the merits of Egon Olsen and his cronies.

But the series, like the Olsen Gang, is really funny, as this gang is as hopeless as criminals as the Olsen Gang. This also applies to the Belgian police inspector who is set to solve the diamond heist.

The series is directed by Gianluca Maria Tavarelli and stars Kim Rossi Stuart as Leonardo Notarbartolo, the leader of the heist. Rossi Stuart is simply superb in the role as the charismatic and ambitious Leonardo, who is determined to carry out his plan. He is a master of displaying different mimics which are often hilarious.

The series is well produced and exciting, and it is full of twists and surprises. And since it jumps back and forth in time before and after the heist, it also requires the viewer to concentrate while you can’t help laughing out loud. At least I did.

In conclusion, Everybody Loves Diamonds is characterized by good actors, it is well produced, partly exciting and absolutely entertaining.

You can watch the series on Amazon Prime.

Watch Everybody Loves Diamonds and laugh.
